Handicap Accessible Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van

Return to Previous Page

At HQ Custom Design, we understand that wheelchair users and their caretakers often have a difficult time with chair loading and transfers when using a handicap accessible vehicle. That is where handicap accessible vans come in—particularly those built by HQ. Our vehicles provide an array of mobility and paratransit solutions without compromising quality aesthetics. Wheelchair lifts, power lift elevation seating, patient lift systems, grab poles and elevation assist toilets are some of our notable amenities, to name a few.

First, Take A Seat

For this build, our client sought to go for a simplistic approach to a handicap accessible build. The passenger cabin contains seating accommodations to fit a total of five passengers. Featuring a rear 3-person bench seating, foldaway and captain chairs. Each chair is composed of Ultra leather in order to provide optimal comfort for both short and long-distance trips. A foldaway chair is incorporated along with L tracks to provide ample space to securely fasten a wheelchair mid-transit.

Enjoy the On-Board Utilities

While the seating provides comfort during the journey, the onboard entertainment helps passengers enjoy the ride. In the cabin, there is an overhead bulkhead TV cabinet featuring a 32-inch LED TV display along with an Apple TV for watching movies and television. A cabin WiFi router allows passengers to stay connected throughout their commute and enjoy Internet capabilities on other devices. AC / USB outlets are found throughout the cabin to enable the charging mobile devices on-the-go. In addition, overhead luggage racks allow passengers to conveniently store their personal belongings above the seating.

Equipped with a Number of Mobility Solutions

HQ provides a plethora of mobility and paratransit solutions to meet your unique travel needs. Our client emphasized the need for having a safe and accessible method of loading and unloading handicap passengers with minimal hassle. With this in mind, we installed a UVL wheelchair lift underneath the sliding door along with an overhead winch patient lift system, which enables caregivers to hoist up handicap passengers in and out of the van with ease and zero physical strain.
